As political parties and their candidates strategize on the way forward, ahead of the 2019 elections, one candidate who seems to be enjoying mass acceptance, support and solidarity of a cross section of the Imo electorate, is the governorship candidate of Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) party, Barr. Aloysius Osuji, who has been endorsed by various individuals, communities, organizations, professional bodies and interest groups, as the most qualified and credible person to occupy the Imo State governorship seat in 2019.
The Okigwe Road campaign office of Barr. Osuji, was agog on Thursday 14th December 2018, as over 2,000 youths from the nine local government areas in Owerri zone, under the aegis of Concerned Imo Youths (CIY) came to express their support and implicit confidence in him and his ability to provide good governance and re-invigorate the state’s battered economy.
Speaking at the occasion, the leader of the group, Comrade John Ekeh, said, after thorough screening and background check of all the governorship candidates in the state, they resolved to support and identify with Barr. Aloysius Osuji because, he is the most qualified credible and outstanding person, whose manifesto addresses the needs and challenges of Imolites who desire positive transformation. “He has the experience, capacity, integrity, character, administrative acumen and ingenuity to reform Imo State and restore its lost glory”.
They also stated that Barr. Osuji’s record of philanthropy, commitment to youth/women empowerment, socio-economic and infrastructural development in different parts of the state, with his personal resources, attest that, he will prudently manage the resources of the state, without short changing the people, if given the mandate in 2019. “Imo State needs a man of conscience and high moral standard, like Barr. Osuji, to harness the abundant natural, material and human capital endowments of the state for the overall interest of Imo people, hence we have resolved to mobilize support for him and sensitize people at the grassroots to ensure his victory at the polls”.
Responding, Barr. Osuji thanked them for the visit and expressed happiness that youths have decided to do the needful by showing more interest in who governs them. He promised to establish a transparent, accountable, responsive, and committed government, build a sustainable state that will promote human capital development, ensure provision of instructure, secure lives and property and enhance access to investment opportunities for the good of our people.
He urged them to obtain their PVCs and vote for credible candidates that will provide good leadership.
